Decorating a porch for Christmas is one of my favorite things to do. Good thing, because I have several of them! Our home has three porches, the barn and pool house each have one, and we also have a cabin with two porches. I don’t decorate all of them, but I do like the porches where guests enter to be a fun greeting space. Simple Christmas Decor for the Porch is always easier and less expensive than some other seasons because you can literally cut some greens from the yard and be well on your way to creating a festive look. Let’s start with the front of the house.

The window boxes are a favorite to gather greens for. I stick several different varieties in each along with some faux berries. Always a cheerful look!
I also love to add wreaths to the larger windows. Found some similar ones with red accents here. Attaching red ribbon to each and closing the upper portion of the window on it for hanging. I add in some battery operated string lights as well, the ones on a timer so they come on every night.
Filling all my containers is another great way to get festive outdoor décor. Starting at the walkway, I added an iron sphere that I secured down with landscape pins and hung a bell from the middle. I then topped it with some red berries and surrounded it with greens. Such great pots to line a sidewalk.
So pretty when it snows, too!
I added a couple of potted trees to my steps, and tied some left over red ribbon to several of the branches. They looked so gorgeous after the snowfall, as well. Let’s hope this snow keeps up for Christmas Day!
Ball jars filled with cranberries and candles are a simple way to greet guests, just line them up along the steps. Such a cozy welcome.
Adding garland along the front entrance can make such a big impact. I had grapevines hanging for Fall so I left them and just added some faux garland to it, along with some Christmas lights and it’s just beautiful!
With a larger arched ceiling in the porch I love to add a Grapevine wreath hung horizontally with ornaments, greens, and lights hanging from it. What a great holiday chandelier!
Cables are attached to it and it hangs from a hook in the ceiling.
The porch pots I really deck out for the occasion. I start with white birch logs…
I then fill with lots of greens, berries, and pinecones. My favorite part is the birch branches dipped in red.
I purchase them like this, but I also tried my hand at spray painting some. They sure do put on quite the show!
The smaller pots next to them I topped with Grapevine spheres covered in Christmas lights.
Such a simple and fun entryway, especially in the snow! Let’s hope it keeps up for the rest of the Christmas season!
If you know me, you know that Simple Christmas Decor for the Porch has to include some pillows. They are such a great way to get in pops of color and Christmas cheer.
Maybe on a bench with a big ole’ pinecone or several on some wicker chairs to give a cozy winter look.
I love the classic black and white buffalo check, which is fun enough any time of the year, but I did end up covering them with a fun red plaid.

Adding a watering can to the table gives me another way to get more greens and berries in 😉
My side porch is another area where guests are sure to enter. This space also has a window box I can fill to the brim!
I also have a big wooden star on this porch that I love to dress up. I found a couple fun bells to hang (similar ones) that I attached with a ribbon and, you guessed it… also added in some greens and berries!
There’s a ladder with a basketful of berries, next to a fun Christmas sign and a birdhouse that I covered the roof of with fake snow. Kind of a fun little craft.
The table and chair set also shows off some fun Christmas décor. The cushions are actually just stuffed inside some flannel pillow cases that I folded under and pinned to the chair. No sewing required!
The other space I can’t help but decorate is seen from this side porch; the Pool House. I usually have red accents out there all year so it doesn’t take much to reflect the season appropriately. I just fill in the window boxes and add a wreath to the door and it’s Christmas-ready!
That pretty much sums up our outdoor Christmas décor at home.
It’s even more magical at night!
So If you feel like headin’ up north a couple hours, that’s where we like to spend cozy weekends! I couldn’t help but ‘deck the halls’ at the cabin, as well.
After all, the red door is just begging for some Christmas décor!
I dug up a small pine tree on the property and potted it up between the porch chairs. It was meant to be!
Next, I added my favorite red-dipped branches to the window boxes along with some moss from the property.
After adding in some pine boughs, it was quite the sight to behold. Especially after it snowed! The cabin is extra fun, because there is almost always more snow up here than at home!
I added some patio lights around the porch and that made it even more cozy!
Of course we can’t forget the buffalo check, fur-lined pillows! They added the perfect Holiday look.
Simple Christmas Décor For the Porch isn’t complete without adding fresh cedar garland. So timeless, it’s just my favorite!
ACTUALLY… having my Christmas porch wrapped in a winter wonderland is my favorite! Especially tucked inside with a fire going and coffee in hand 😉
Thank you so much for following along on the tour of my Simple Christmas Decor for the Porch… I wish you all a beautifully blessed Christmas, friends!
