I really am crazy about Valentine’s Day! I’m not sure exactly why but I have claimed for quite some time that it’s my favorite holiday.. Is that even a thing?! Is Valentine’s considered a holiday? Maybe I love it so much because it brings out the kid in me… I will definitely be found elbow deep in conversation hearts, and of course not miss the opportunity to frost a good ole’ sugar cookie or cupcake for the occasion! And bring on the crafts.. from heart garlands to puffy heart pillows.. let me at the the hot glue gun! As far as entertaining and home decor, well that’s a given!
Let the decorating begin! Like I always say..throw in a few FUN pillows and you’ve got yourself a seasonal refresh..just that quick.
I will always take the opportunity to decorate with red.. its such a great pop of color. So warning.. a little “heart“ overload comin’ your way.
I ordered these pillows from Target a couple of years ago.. and ordered more the next year. This year they weren’t available anymore and I would have loved a couple for my porch as well! Valentine’s pillows are certainly FUN to search for online though.. so many cute ones.
The garland I made with a pompom ribbon and some felt hearts also from Target.
This display of pillows was me getting crafty on a snow day. The white heart is actually 2 placemats from the Target Dollar spot that I sewed together and stuffed.
The red one is a Christmas pillow that says Merry on the other side. I used some twine, another felt heart and the hot glue gun to create this little guy. Everyone says.. “is it suppose to spell love”? It’s not .. I just twirled it around and glued it here and there.. but I wish I would have thought of that!
Another fun craft item (that I can’t take credit for) is this wooden heart. It was purchased several years ago at a floral shop.
I have loved using it in so many places that I finally asked my hubby to cut me a few more this year. They have been fun to add outdoors as well, which I will show you shortly.
This heart is actually made of tin…I don’t remember where I got it but I have always loved the detail of it. I never fail to find a sweet spot to display this little guy.
Another fun Target find this year was this cute puffy heart garland.. this has definitely made its way around the house. It was FUN hanging from the mantle..
Or draped here and there for table decor.
Here’s another heart pillow that was sewn from two placemats at the Target Dollar spot. A red one this time! I can’t remember where the gingham check chargers are from .. but I wish I had more of them. Aren’t they adorable?!
I just realized the last 3 photos had fresh florals! For me a MUST all through the winter, but for sure a FUN way to pop in some reds or pinks for the occasion.
Why not celebrate Valentine‘s more than just the ONE day?! I love to have FUN with it for several weeks leading up to it. Any chance to add whip cream and sprinkles to a regular ole’ day, right!?
These cute little mug sweaters.. you guessed it, Target Dollar spot!
Speaking of sprinkles… bring on the baking!
I can always count on Molly to want to join Nana in decorating baked goods!
There will be no cupcake left plain.. of that you can be sure!
Ready to share with some guests!
How about a Galentine‘s Brunch! Just for FUN!
Or simply breakfast with the hubby!
Back to decor.. I told you I would show you how I played with all my wooden hearts outdoors.
They were such a great way to transition the red berries and twigs still displayed in my pots and window boxes!
Another red heart pillow I sewed from those cute placemats..
The side porch got its share of decor as well.
And we can’t forget the shed.. just a couple more hearts..
Did I not warn you there would be heart overload?! ????
So maybe I inspired you to do some crafting, have a Girl’s Brunch, frost up some baked goods or simply have your coffee in a cute heart mug. Either way friends.. it was FUN sharing my Valentine’s Day obsession with you .. hope you have an absolutely LOVELY one!❤️
Love everything about this! Thank you for sharing! I NEED to find some wooden hearts to add here and there! So cute! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you sweet friend!
Your Valentines looks darling!! I keep trying to bunch in fabric or twirl in ribbon and looking at these scenes show me I don’t need to! Simplicity wins!
