What better way to kick off the first day of summer than with A Summer Home Tour bursting with colorful decor! If there’s ever a time to incorporate color into your home it’s Spring and Summer, am I right?! It’s that time of year where all the colors of nature are out in full force. That’s where all my color inspiration for decor originates from. The blue hues of the sky, the yellow / golden hues of the sun, the green of the grass, and of course all the colors of the flowers. My favorite saying.. “Give me all the colors!”
There’s probably not a color I have not used in my decor at some point or another, but ultimately my favorite bursts of color in the Spring and Summer are the bright shades of nature I listed above. So come on in and take a peek at my colorful Summer decor.
The Foyer will greet you with lots of greenery, which alone gives such a FUN Summer vibe.
Whether real or faux, greenery gives such life to any room.
The all white mudroom serves as a bright backdrop to show off any color. The pillows here give me “all the colors”, so I had FUN accenting with the orange. After tulip season was over I found some bright orange poppies to replace them.
To continue accenting with color in this space, I brought in some yellow and blue pillows for the bench on the opposite wall. Obviously benches are rarely used for sitting around here..LOL!
My ladder is always a FUN way to bring in a seasonal burst of color. Here I added a yellow flowering wreath as well as a throw to match and …how fun is that sign? I have had that for so long..found it amongst some old frames, so that was resurrected!
So just to the left of the bench, take a peek into the laundry room.
I really love to incorporate some garden decor in here because I do a lot of potting and garden cleanup right here at this sink.
Even on the opposite side, how cute is this lamp that looks like a shovel and garden pot. Found that several years back at Home Goods. From the signs, the birds, the watering can and the colorful clothespins..they all seem to give that summer garden vibe that I love!
Now back into the mudroom, opposite the wall with the bench, you’ll see the guest bath is also bursting with Summer color, because…well, why not!?
You can never go wrong with lemons in your summer decor, am I right!?
Which brings us to the kitchen.. Lemons always show up in there, as they should! Actually, a Summer Home Tour bursting with colorful decor.. is my kitchen in a nutshell. You’ll most likely find all the FUN colors in this one room.
Lemons..Oranges..Limes, oh my! Such an easy way to decorate for summer with all the FUN colors of produce this time of year.
While we have colorful produce going on, why not paint the door a bright apple green color?! Now that’s a burst of color for summer!
Wanting to add in a bit more blue, some summer lanterns did just the trick. They are perfect for an outdoor summer feel.
Having an open concept floor plan, I enjoy trying to create rooms that flow nicely together with colors that compliment each other.
Each of the colors I have used so far are also represented in the great room and dining area.
From the items on the shelves to the pillows and throws, each accent is another opportunity to work in the colors of Summer.
The Dining Room is also a great place to change up decor for the Summer season. I added some blue glass jugs and filled them with different faux botanicals.
Now that really brings in an outdoor feel.
The Sunroom always feels Summery! With all the windows, the blue skies and sunshine bring in all the color that’s needed.
Of course the addition of a little extra blue and green are always welcome.
The Master Bedroom is right off the sunroom, right inside the french doors.
Such a perfect morning spot to see the sunrise when waking up and sipping our coffee. Pulling the blue into the bedroom while also adding a little coral, sure does add yet another burst of color.
Adding in some Poppies seemed appropriate.. LOL! Some FUN pillows once again are always a perfect way to get pops of color for each season.
In this case… that super cute bird pillow I picked up at a boutique near me.. definitely has summer written all over it.
I love using wreaths everywhere, (read more about that here) even on my bathroom barn door, easy color right there.
Along with some florals and a towel or two and BAM… Summer has sprung in the bathroom. Last of all.. The guest room.
A few yellows and blues in here are perfectly accented by the morning sun streaming in. Such a bright cheery room, who wants to come visit?
As you can see, A Summer Home Tour bursting with colorful decor doesn’t stop at the front door.. I promise to have you over for a garden / porch tour soon! Thanks so much for stopping by friends!
